Taxis
The most common form of transportation in Peru is the taxi. However, regulation of taxis in Peru remains very informal. You will see both registered and unregistered taxis leaving Lima Airport.
Therefore, if you do choose to go by taxi, the local authorities highly recommend booking a taxi before leaving Lima Airport, through one of the registered and official taxi companies. There are five major taxi companies that you will find inside Jorge Chavez Airport: CMV Taxi Remisse Ejecutivo, Mitsoo Remisse Taxi, Taxi365, Taxi Directo and Taxi Green.
When returning to the airport, the concierge or receptionist of your hotel or hostel will be able to book you a registered and official taxi. Make sure to leave your hotel or hostel with enough time to spare, as traffic in Lima can be terrible at any time of day. Travelling from the airport to Miraflores (and vice versa) can take 45 – 60 minutes, and double that time during rush hours.
If you do not want to take a taxi, here are two options to get you out of the airport.
Car Rentals
There are four major car rental companies located in Jorge Chavez airport: AVIS, Budget, Hertz and Grupo ANC. Driving in Peru – and especially Lima – is a challenge, even for the more experienced driver.
Unless you are familiar with Lima’s road rules and the way of driving, renting a car is not recommended. It is much easier to take a bus or taxi to get around Lima.
Bus
From Jorge Chavez Airport to Miraflores and back to the airport, our buses run 7 days a week, 365 days a year, for only $8 USD one way and $15 USD for a return ticket.
We have 7 strategically placed stops in Miraflores, that are less than a 5-minute walk from over 150 hotels.
Our buses leave from the Airport between 7am and 12am, and from Miraflores between 6am to 10pm. Please see our timetables section for more information.
